The Veterans Musuem of the Mid-Ohio Valley is a non-profit organization established by a small group of veterans in Parkersburg, West Virginia in 2002. For five years, the Veterans Museum presented itself to the public through newspaper articles, small displays set up in various places throughout the area, and on television and radio spots. Through the efforts of many volunteers, local business supporters, and grants, the Veterans Museum opened to the public in it's current location on Avery Street in Parkersburg in July of 2006.

Remembering those who served in World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the Iraq/Afghanistan War, the museum offers 1700 square feet of displays, memorabilia, photographs, letters, and uniforms. In addition, the museum has space dedicated for a video and book library complete with computers and internet access for research.

The mission of the Veteran's Museum is threefold. First, and most importantly, the museum's purpose is to honor and preserve the memory of veterans by emphasizing the important role veterans have played in the history of this country. Second, the museum serves as an educational resource about our military involvement throughout the world. Third, the museum provides a unique tourist resource in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
