Point Pleasant River Museum
The Point Pleasant River Museum and Learning Center focuses on river life and commercial enterprise on the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers. The Pt Pleasant River Museum and Lakin Ray Cook Learning center is one of only 22 recognized River Museums in America. It is also the only one with a fully functional education center that shall include simulators and other training aids to train future and current river boat pilots and crew that work in America's inland waterway system. Currently, the museum board is in the process of rebuilding the River Museum and Education Center due to a fire in 2018. With a new location, the museum anticipates a grand re-opening sometime in late 2021 or early 2022. Please visit their website to stay updated on their process and support their efforts.
