2024 Conference Awards
The West Virginia Association of Museums (WVAM) has made a significant modification to its conference awards structure. Traditionally presenting a single accolade for Institution of the Year, this year, WVAM would like to introduce three distinct awards to honor excellence within the museum community: Institution of the Year, Museum Service Impact Award, and Innovative Programming Award. Each award serves to recognize different aspects of museum achievement, encouraging a more comprehensive acknowledgment of contributions to the field. We encourage everyone to review the descriptions of each award and submit their nominations promptly, as the deadline for submissions is April 30th.

We are now accepting nominations for our 2024 Institution of the Year. The winning institution will demonstrate exceptional creativity and proficiency - whether through innovative programming, new exhibits, community and staff support, or any project considered an outstanding model or best practice.
It is free to nominate an institution, and anyone may submit a nomination. The nominated institution must be a member of WVAM in order to receive this award. Please refer to a list of our current members here (www.museumsofwv.org/museums) or become a member today (www.museumsofwv.org/members).
The winner will receive a commemorative plaque and a $250 prize. The winning institution will be announced at our conference banquet on the evening of Friday, June 7th.
The deadline for submitting a nomination is April 30th, 2024.
The winner will be determined by vote of an impartial committee and will be judged on their merits within the context of their own institutional capacity.

We are now accepting nominations for our 2024 Museum Service Impact Award. The winner of this award will be an individual who has shown dedication to and made a significant impact in a museum or institution, or the statewide museum community.

The winner will be announced at our conference banquet on the evening of Friday, June 7th.
